Our Story
Nestled in historic downtown Bangor, Pennsylvania, Slate Belt Brewing Company isn't just a brewpub - it's a neighborhood gathering place rooted in authenticity, creativity, and craft. We opened our doors in February 2025 with a clear mission: to bring people together through great flavor, good company, and a shared love of stories well told.
It all began with a dream among Lehigh Valley Homebrewers - Tim Kerrigan, Honorée Kerrigan, and Paul Szabo. Their early venture, 14th Fret Brewing Company, embodied a bold vision beer, music, and art in perfect harmony. Though the project never came to life, its spirit laid the groundwork for what was to come.
Years later, Tim and Paul teamed up with local chef and Slate Belt native Travis Dente, blending brewing heritage with culinary creativity. Together, they launched Slate Belt Brewing - a traditional American Brewpub featuring scratch-made dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. And while our brewhouse installation is still in progress, our friends from Weyerbacher and Saucony Creek help to bring our signature beers to the tap. Our first release, Chronic Freedom Amber IPA, is a toast to Bangor's 150th anniversary. Up next? Motorhead Lager, balanced and built for those who know when to put it in drive and know when to coast.
But, Slate Belt Brewing is about more than food and drink. It’s a space where neighbors meet, musicians perform, and families feel at home. A place that belongs to Bangor.

Chef Travis’s rotating menu features locally sourced ingredients across inventive small plates, hearty entrees, fresh salads, and decadent desserts.
From our smoked old fashioned to seasonal sangrias and espresso martinis, our bartenders mix each drink with care and flair. With one of our own signature beers on tap and more brewing soon, the flavors here are just beginning to unfold.
Reservations are recommended, especially for weekend dinners and special events.
